CakeCentral app

There are times when I'm downstairs in my home and need to look up a recipe or access my CC account on my iPod and I always thought it'd be really great to have a CC app for it (or an Android device).

Just a thought. icon_smile.gif I know ya'll are busy but it really could be a great addition to an already awesome site.

I totally agree

I guess I'm really spoiled with my phone right now (a first)... Because I'm responding from it, no app necessary. icon_smile.gif It's an Android, and the things it will do continually amaze me. I have CC wherever I go. icon_biggrin.gif

Off-topic, but my discovery for the day: I just added a Nook app that just turned my phone into a book reader. On top of already being a phone, PDA, email thingy, camera, radio, social networker, internet browser, Angry Birds player, and the all-important CC link. I'm happy as a clam with this thing even though technology left me behind in about 1997.

Just thought ya might like to know an app isn't necessary for an Android phone. I might be totally unqualified to say that, though, because I still don't even understand the difference between wi-fi and 3G networks. Or why I'd want to create a hotspot in the first place...?

You can browse CC from your phone, but an app would make it much easier...no having to zoom in and out to read things, the text and forums are automatically sized to the phone window, the photos are more easily accessible. Do you have the facebook app on your phone? Compare browsing facebook from your web browser on the phone and the facebook app and you'll see the difference an app would make.

Aren't smartphones great?? I'm amazed I ever survived without mine...

Resizing would be convenient, very true... However, I can't stand the Facebook for Android app. It seems nearly useless to me. I'd rather access it through my browser, personally. If there could be a CC app that changed nothing except sizing, I'm all for it.

My last phone was supposedly a smart phone, but it didn't hold a candle to this one. I'm pretty sure this one will eventually have to be surgically removed from my hand when its time comes. icon_lol.gif

But not everyone has a Smartphone. I use my iPod when I have Wi-Fi, but many apps allow you to access stuff you "download" when you're not online, which I think would be worth its weight in gold.

I'm not just talking about forums, I'm talking about accessing fave recipes, fave photos, etc. possibly without needing a cell or Wi-Fi connection.

I use all kinds of apps on my iPod, and I just thought it might be a great addition.

There are so many possibilities out there to make an app that would be a great enhancement to what we already have here, not a replacement. icon_wink.gif

I would also pay a fee to download a CC app. icon_smile.gif

Now, I don't know HOW to create an app, as I've never taken the time to play around with all the tools to do so, but I do know there are groups out there that are willing to work with someone to create an app. *shrug*

I really just think it would be extremely useful and possibly another business opportunity. The world is heading towards more mobility, and I don't see why a forum and business this large couldn't get into it as well.

I think an app would be awesome! I've got a blackberry and ever since August when CC started having trouble with the forum and uploading pics I've had problems with the mobile CC. It won't let me log in, post in the forum, view the new and most saved pics, or upload pics from my BB. Is anyone else having this problem?

wow, I feel like the newbie on this one! I have no idea what any of you are talking about! iPod .... that's like a modern version of a cassette recorder that plays music? icon_eek.gif And the Wi is something you exercise to? Nook? Isn't that what some people call a baby's pacifier?

Of course, my kids JUST talked me into getting a phone that sends/receives texts just this year! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

I popped into this thread because I wondered what people were "applying" to CC for? (an "app" is short for "job application", right?) dunce.gif

I think I'm officially the old lady on here! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

But I do have access to my laptop 22/7 (taking out the avg 2 hrs a day that I drive somewhere, so my CC addiction is fed constantly! thumbs_up.gif

I think there should be an app, but a FREE app, especially since all the mess with the CC magazine subscriptions, I know I wouldn't be giving any money to something that I haven't been able to get. thumbsdown.gif
BUT I do agree, a app would be thumbs_up.gif

LOL icon_biggrin.gif First your not old!! App is a computer application, kind of like a buying a new program. An ipod (by apple) is a fancy phone or basically hand held computer that you can make phone and receive phone calls. It does everything, but bring coffee to you in the morning, (they probably have a app for that too! icon_lol.gif ) An Android (which I have) is a phone that does a lot but not as much as an ipod. icon_smile.gif
