I bought the cake stand from Petal Crafts for $295+Shipping and I couldn't be more disappointed, upset e feeling the most 'naive' (I don't want to say the St***** word).
It is poor made, with bad finishing, bad paint job, little pieces coming out of the middle hole and pipes from home depot.... I contact the store and they refused to accept the return, so I got stuck with it.
Well, I am just venting... it was good for the experience (very expensive one).

That is too bad, I just looked it up and it looks like a great item from their website. Sorry you got such a bad product.

Sounds like terrible customer service. I'd call back and ask to speak with a supervisor and if they don't help, go above them. Then put it in writing (certified/return receipt). You should not be stuck with an expensive, sub-par item.

Good Luck!

Kimmers971:
the customer service representative was the owner of the store, we exchange several e-mails and she never even bother to call me... the most she could do was to offer me a store credit IF the box was not open... now, how could I know this product was so bad if I didn't open the box....
I couldn't believe it...

Thank you!

I thought it was good too... but on the picture it looks perfect and it makes you think you could use for 3 cakes, right? weel, it is only one base, so you can use it for one cake at a time.
If you know at least know how to hold a drill you can make one yourself or ask your husband to make it.. icon_smile.gif

Thank you!!!

When I look at their page I thought the 3 pics were just showing the 3 options you can use, straight up, offset and topsy, not that there were 3 separate stands. It does list only one base. Plus it clearly says non-returnable so I am guessing you are screwed unfortunately. I was talking with my hubby about it and he said since it was clearly marked non-returnable that they knew there were quality issues, which is really crappy business. In spite of it being crappily made, can you at least still use it since it will be covered by cake? I hope so. Do you have any recourse with your credit card company?

I ordered by phone and the owner said that I could use for more than one cake (not the 3)... and just notice that 'non-returnable' after I received it. I agree with your husband... I should have been more careful...
well, because I was already screwed I used once, but I feel so angry when I see that I don't make any effort..

but it's fine.. I just wanted to vent a little bit and with this post maybe others won't make the same mistake I did...
I will survive! hahahahah

Thank you! icon_wink.gif

I am glad that you posted it so others might see it here before they buy. Really sucks that the phone person mis-represented the item about how many cakes it makes. Another really bad customer service example. Don't let the crappiness keep you from using it again, just cover it up with beautiful and fun cakes and get your moneys worth in spite of it's ugliness!

What a lovely cake! You MUST use the ugly duckling stand again and again to make more beauties.

Some months ago I ordered a nice set of three white plastic punch daisy cutters for around $40. When they arrived they were absolutely nothing like the picture, but were cheap rusty (yes, rusty!!) metal cutters in a zip top plastic bag (that looked used). When I contacted them they said to send them back which I did. They refused the shipment. I never did get the cutters I ordered or my money back. I highly recommend not buying anything from them, they are crooks.

Langranny: the pipes for the stand came on a used ziplock bag too, maybe it was yours! hahahahahaha sorry, couldn't miss the joke!

I agree with you.. I am sorry you got this experience...

I can understand the No return policy on some things...edible materials, etc...but when something is damaged...that is just not right...so sorry that happened to you...but thank you for letting us know about Petal Craft.....I sometimes hesitate to order from a new site. Petal craft is off my list...

Caljava has topsy turvy structure simular.....I have thought about getting it but I'm just not sure......maybe I'll make my own...(if Duff can do it...maybe so can I......lol...)
