Poured Sugar River Help!

What is the best way to do a poured sugar river? Please help it is for a school project for my son.

Simplest way is to melt blue hard candies - or maybe clear ones with blue food dye.

You could make the river out of aluminum foil (oven safe foil--not florist foil) and crush the candies and sprinkle them on the foil and bake 'em at 325 or so and wait till they melt. Viola.

Very dangerous, hot sugar.

Putting foil under the sugar helps the look a lot, even if you melt and pour it.
