After 3 years of staying home with my daughter, I have decided I want to go back to work.

I run my own home-made candy business. BUT there is a cupcake shop hiring right around the corner from my home.

I do not sell cupcakes, or any cakes for that matter. Do you think its a conflict of interest?

I just want to do something I love, and my business isnt bringing in alot of money right now.

i thought about it, but here, I can only sell in farmers markets without a commercial kitchen. But if I can use thiers then thats a whole other story!

You should be fine working there as long as there are no broad noncompete agreements in the employment contract.

If you end up using their facility to make your own products under your own name, you'll want to have a clear rental agreement in place. Still, that could get a little messy, as you would need to carefully segregate your time and materials between the hourly job and your own business. This is especially true if you end up wholesaling the candy to the cupcake shop.

You also might want to go after a different demographic and perhaps consider doing signature candies for non-profits and organizations, can your products be used as fundraisers? Then you are truly not competing with the gen..public. Good luck to you.
