Does anyone know a easy way to make surgar cookies. It takes forever to make dough and all that stuff. Is there an easier way?
If you just want the cookie--you could do refrigerated dough--where you make the dough one day and then form them into rolls and frige or freeze them.
Then any dya going forward you just slice off as many cookies as you want and bake them. You can roll the dough logs in nuts or sugar or something to make them more 'edgey'.
There's tons of recipes. I am partial to the pinwheel cookies. In fact that's gonna be part of the Christmas present this year to the Munchkins--chocoalte pinwheel cookies dough for their freezer. I'm also making vanilla salt and vanilla sugar and I might start them a little vanilla.
Just google refrigerator cookies or icebox cookies.
It would take more time and effort to trip on down to the store than it would to mix up a single batch( or a triple batch) of sugar cookie dough. Less than 20 minutes to done and that includes cleanup. What's not easy about it?
AllFour--truly I am with you.
However so many are so freaking s.l.o.w. in the kitchen.
mind boggling
We just had a pot lucky type meal somewhere and it took THREE people to make mashed potatoes in a stand mixer--kid you not. <faint>
No offense to our op
<make cookies not war>
No no no no no--this ^^^ is after they are peeled and potted and cooked them. Good thing I wasn't there to witness that. Probably had tag teams running back & forth from the sink to the stove filling the pot with water in one cup measures oh my gawd
<knees are weahhhk>
<cahhhn't breahhthe>
Its easy but it makes a mess. Putting flour out cutting them out. Plus decorating them. I already knew about the store bought. I want something that taste good. Plus there are so many things to do. I can make the dough but I wna tto make them alot. I dontlike making dough once or twice a week.
Im not slow in the kitchen. I go rather fast. I know some people who can spend a whole day just baking the cake!!
OP, when I'm making sugar cookie dough, I make sure I make enough so I don't have to make it again for at least a month. Don't even bother cleaning the mixer between batches(regardless of whether it's a single, double, quadruple...)...mix, dump (while I'm divvying up the first batch, I've got the butter in the bowl whipping for the next one),divvy, flatten, wrap. Label and date, and place all 'sheets' in the freezer. To make my sheets evenly rolled, I use two wooden dowels. You don't have to flour the counter either...place the dough on a sheet of freezer paper or between waxed paper to roll out.

P.S. You can get them from us. I am not sure if I am allowed to post our URL to buy it and I don't want to get banned from CakeCentral. If you email me I will be glad to give you our link.
