Yikes! Please Help Me Tonight!!!

I made a hockey mask out of mmf mixed with tylose on Sunday, and then placed it on a roll of paper towel so that it would be slightly curved, as it will be sitting on top of a cake. Left it to dry. I then painted the mask tonight, then realized that it hasn't hardened much at all, and I need it to hold it's shape by tomorrow! Is there anything I can do to make it dry ASAP and get it to hold the curved shape? I don't know what to do!
I don'tr know about MMF, but when I need my fondant with Tylose to dry quicker I put in on the table under the ceiling fan. It seems to do the trick. HTH
Even with adding tylost MMF doens't like to dry very hard. Not much help to you tonight. Do you have access to wilton fondant? That will work, you can even use the denture powder (that holds them in place) to add to the wilton fondant - it works like tylose in a pinch.
(most 24 hour walmarts have the wilton fondant and the denture powder)
You can put it in the oven with the light bulb on overnight.
I have read somewhere about putting it in the oven with just the lightbulb on-won't the mmf melt though? Right now I've got a fan blowing on it on full blast!
I wouldn't put it in the oven. I agree that the mmf would melt. Any heat just makes it softer. Hopefully the fan will do the trick!
well 2 things try the fan. multiple fans if you have them, MMF takes a long long time to dry, and becuz its painted it will take twice as long. or go to walmart and get straight Wilton gumpaste. Its the only thing that will dry by morning.

No the MMF won't melt. It's just enough warmth to dry it out.

I should have done it in gumpaste, as I know it dries very hard. I don't know what I was thinking! It was my first time using the mmf with tylose and I really thought it would harden more than it has. Unfortunately, I live in a very small town and our Walmart doesn't carry gumpaste.
I had this problem with some 3-d flowers once and made a dome of MMF that matched the cake covering and propped them on it. Is it possible to roll a cylinder the same color as the cake cover and lay the mask over it so that it keeps it's shape, even if it's not hardened? I don't know what it looks like, so I don't know if it would show through or not.
I'm not an expert, but I just had my own catastrophe over the weekend and wanted to chime in in case it would help Good luck!
Thank you everyone for your kind suggestions! I'm just going to leave the fan blowing on it overnight and take it from there. It's not imparative that the mask keeps the curved shape-I just thought it would look better for some dimension. I also discovered that my chocolate mmf that I colored black for this cake tastes gross- I used Americolor black, but maybe I used too much, I don't know. Has a sort of metallic taste to it. But, thank god the cake isn't for a customer and just for my husband's birthday. He will love it anyways, mistakes and all!
mmf is tricky when it comes to drying, fans are your best bet...this might sound a bit out of the ordinary and maybe too late...but either way for future reference, silica gel packets, a cardboard cake box with fans blowing on it would get the job done overnight. i keep silica gel packet handy for the same reason your in a pinch now...its worth thinking about in case it happens again, especially if its for a customer! oh and i agree, the black americolor does have a strange taste, sometimes i add a little extract (almond, vanilla, or even vodka) just to cut that strange taste good luck! i am sure your hubby will love it no matter what!

I love the silica gel packets!!! What a great idea. Time to start saving them when I buy new shoes...and I do that often!!! Hee-hee!!!
