Clean up fondant & luster dust to stick

My cake is alomst done and there are some areas that need "cleaning up"- for example, some of the sugar glue dripped or there is some sugar that isn't brushing ogg.
I know the Cake Boss steams his-I wish!!!
Do I paint it with vodaka?

Also, I want to paint it with luster dust. Will it just stick?

luster sticks to mine when I brush it on and that steamer was the best thing I bought. I got a Shark but there were ones for alot cheaper, It really cleans off the sugar on my fondant.
