I've been scouring the web looking for a photo of a really nice (not one that looks like a child made it) nativity done from cookies. Unfortunately, I can't find any! Please send ideas, links etc. Thank you all so much!!

i dont know how available the cutters are, but its a relatively easy shape to cut your self, the details in the icing.

But, as a good Catholic girl, I think I would have trouble biting the heads off of the Holy Family.

This Holy Family will not be eaten. Our church is doing a Nativity Festival where we can display our fancy/handmade/heirloom Nativities and I would like to give this year's a go in cookie form. I did one in cake a few years ago (in my pictures). I really enjoyed making it. Thanks for all your help!

But how does one get the cookies to stand upright? I have a set of reindeer cookie cutters that are made to be sort of puzzle like so that when done you can fit two pieces together and make the critter stand up in 3-D. But these nativity cutters that I'm just looking at look like regular "flat" cookies.

You can also get nativity chocolate candy molds. Who knew!

I'd really like to do them from gingerbread men. I'm just not certain I know how to do all this in cookie form...
