So I am making a 30th birthday cake for my sister's SIL.
She is a Twilight freak so that's the theme for the cake.

I have looked at ALL the cakes in the gallery and have a general idea of what I will be doing but I am stuck on how to really emphasize her love for Edward. So far the best I can come up with is to have a pair of fangs on the cake, but am not sure that's enough.

Any ideas on how to really make it "Edwardy?" (cause that's a real word, I know! )

Ok, so I'm about to expose myself as a big Twilight fan as well.

I personally wouldn't put fangs on the cake, because Edward doesn't have them, just razor sharp teeth.

In the book, his prey of choice was a mountain lion, so you could run with that. Also, he sparkles in the sun, so you could make the cake sparkly!

I would put some of Edwards quotes around the cake.

For example "You are my life now" is a well known one which Twihards relate to.

This is THE twilight quote which every Twihard knows

I also wouldn't recommend putting fangs on, and I like the sparkly cake idea.

If it were me getting the cake I would want it in the colours red, white and black. I would want it to be a "romantic" cake IYKWIM.

I would also include the "Twilight tulip"

And I've just outted myself as a twilight fanatic too lol

That being said... Edward plays the piano, can quote shakesphere... drives a Volvo, there are so many things and quotes you could do. The best one I can think of is where he and Bella are laying in the meadow. That is just an awesome scene.

I love juleebug's idea of the buttercream transfer (nicely done juleebug!). Hmmm I would make my design different.. just to be unique (I hate to do a straight out copycat lol). If I were making it, I would make a box style cake and place the transfer on one side of the cake and then incorperate a 'happy birthday such and such' on the opposite side.. then on the opposite remaining two sides place some memorable quotes from either the movie or books (I'd go the books - much more romantic *sigh*) Then to finish it off I'd place a fondant red shiny apple on top with a lovely glossy red ribbon wrapped around it draping over the edges.
Well.. all that said and done I wish I were making a twilight cake lol
