Not to long ago, I read someone's recipe for a simple pudding filling. Seems like it was just pudding and whipping cream. I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know about this? Also, should it be refridgerated? Seems like they said it didn't need to be, but seems to me it should. Thanks!

The one I use is
1 pint heavy whipping cream
1 box 5oz instant pudding mix (any flavor)
whip until you have the correct consistency.
Sometimes its a little thick so I thin it out with a little milk. Just a tablespoon or two.
Hope that helped.

One of the most requested 'fillings' that I use is something I call "vanilla mousse".
I use heavy whipping cream, @ 1 cup, and @ 3 T of instant vanilla pudding, and some vanilla bean paste.... I just whip them all together (you can adjust according to taste)... IF I'm feeling really adventurous, I add Godiva vanilla liquor!! This mixture is light and fluffy, and it's one of those things that I will usually eat with a spoon after I finish the cake!! ~~
I also use this as a fruit dip, just add a little more heavy cream so that it's a bit thinner!

Thankyou for that recipe with the vanilla bean paste! I just bought some and now have to find uses for it!
I can't wait to try both filling recipes!

Does it need to be refrigerated? Also, where do you find vanilla bean paste?

I got my vanilla bean paste from Home Sense(same company as Winners). I'm located in Canada. I'm not really sure what would be the equivalent if you're from the States. Winners is kind of like T.J. Maxx or Ross I believe. And Home Sense is just the Home furnishing version. HTH!

I get my vanilla bean paste from Williams-Sonoma, or Country Kitchen, Sweet Art... some gourmet grocery stores sell it... it's around ten dollars for a bottle!
This type of filling does require refrigeration!
