Okay all of my cakin friends . I bit the bullet and purchased the KA 600 Pro. A whopping 360.00. And now I am using it for the first time and I am not liking it at all. The lift bowl makes it very difficult to change out blades . I like to aerate my dry ingredients a bit with the whisk, then mix all ingredients with the beater blade . VERY FREAKIN HARD TO CHANGE BLADES WITH A FULL BOWL . HUGE PAIN IN THE A$$. I certainly hope that once I finish using it to do the 14 layers of cake I need for this wedding . I will be more adept at changing the flippin blades .
A friend loaned me his while my "tilt head" was being repaired after using it for more than 10 years. He had the "bowl lift" model. I didn't like it at all! I'm glad I got to try it out because when my KA finally died, I bought the tilt head again. No possibility of exchanging it? Good Luck!
I bought the Cusinart 7 qt-nothing beats it!! That sucker whips up fondant like whip cream! I too did not like the bowl lift, plus several other features, I bought this one and have not regretted it!
thnaks for your input . I kept going back and forth on deciding between the Cuisinart and the KA . I had a tilt head KA and have always liked it , just needed bigger bowl .I guess i could probably return it ... it has gotten easier to maneuver the bowl but it is awfully noisy . doesnt seem to run as smooth as the 4.5 qt tilt head .
