I am going to be making a choco cake and wanted a good oreo cookie filling.
Does anyone have a good recipe?
The one from whimsical bake house is really tasty. I made it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. YOu'd have to keep it in the fridge though
Thanks Jess....I will check it out.
Merissa...I actually wanted to stay away from something that needed refigeration because it was going to be for a wedding. But where can I find that recipe if I dont want to buy the book?
i recently used alittlesliceofhaven's from the fillings recipe section here on CC and it was delish! also it doesn't need refridgeration. i will definitely be using it again
can be found under oreo filling:

I've always just use crushed up chocolate sandwich cookies, like Oreo's, and added them to my standard buttercream. I use @ 2 cups of frosting with @ 1/2 cup crushed cookies, you can add more or less, depending on how much cookie flavor you want!!
I use little sliceofheaven's recipe, too. I have never hd any complaints about it, and I love to lick the bowl!!
Thanks everyone for their suggestions. Im gonna do a couple of test run samples. I was reading the reviews for the littlesliceofheavens filling and some people were saying it tasted greasy and like crisco....has anyone had this problem? Can I reduce the amount of shortening?
I honestly have not had the issue at all. To me, I think there is more of the marshmallow taste than the shortening. I suppose you can cut back a bit on the shortening if you want, or be sure to mix everything to a completely uniform degree.
this needs refridgeration but it is really good!! One package of cookies and cream pudding, extra crushed oreos and 1.5 cups of whipping cream.. whip it up and it is an awesome mousse.
i started using oreo jello pudding with the dream whip...u prepare the whipped topping as instructed on the box..but add the pudding with extra milk...i use whipping cream and then fold in extra crushed oreos...it tastes soooo good and is really firm
I use Indydeb's Butter cream with chocolate cookie crumbs (like graham cracker crumbs) and crushed oreos. I find the the filling is very similar to the oreo cream centre.
Adevag, you don't need a dam. It is a frosting-consistence filling.
Oh, that makes it so much easier!
Thanks!
