I just found this on Amazon. I know I've heard him say he does not give out their recipes, but this book kinda states otherwise.

Anyone have any info on this? Do you think he'll be putting generic recipes in there?

The webpage does not state what kind of recipes they are. It could be his tomato sauce recipe.

I know that QVC had Buddy on air selling the book. They might be be able to answer questions. They are usually pretty good about having better info. HTH!

Lol, yeah, probably will be something like a philly cheese sandwich recipe or something that has nothing to do with cakes.

Yeah, I wouldn't bank on him revealing and family secrets in this book.

Apparently he going on tour as well. He is stopping here (Des Moines) in a few weeks, but ticket prices are redicioulous, IMO, - $35.75, $42.75 and $48.75 (plus service charges)

I got tickets to see Buddy when he is in Des Moines. I am taking my 13 yr old daughter and my 29 yr old daughter bought her a ticket. I can't wait to see him. I heard they will have a taste sampling on his cake.

I also order the book - got if off Amazon while I was watching him on QVC.
It was a little cheaper. I thought David (QVC) said that the cakes that were shown on the show were the recipes in the book. I'm not sure. One of the cakes was a Red Velvet. I'm anxiously awaiting!!!

I wondered the same thing. I almost ordered the book, but remembered him saying he never gives out the family recipes. Waiting to see the reviews before I commit to buying. It would be disappointing if the Cake Boss' book didn't include any 'cake' recipes.

Hi all! Had an opportunity to go to his 1st book signing tonight! (the book was officially released today). Unfortunately they SOLD OUT of books, but did get to speak with him & will receive an autographed book by the end of the week. I did get to browse through one book & the beginning seems to be a background story & some family history w/some pictures - then it is followed by recipes.
Buddy was pleasant, as always, to chat with - posed for pics & seems to truly appreciate his fans coming out to support him! His wife Lisa was also there chatting with those who stopped to say hi! & she looks great (pregnant with their 4th child). Can't wait to get the book & devour it! thumbs_up.gif

Happy Baking AND Reading to all! icon_biggrin.gif

PS: I'm hoping his fudge recipe is included (YUMMO!) but understand of it's not!

I will wait to hear reviews before buying this book. I made a recipe that he'd given out on some show or other he'd been on, and was not impressed. Got the feeling it was just some generic recipe he provided and NOT a recipe he used in his bakery!

If his book does indeed include recipes from the bakery, I'll buy it in a heartbeat!

A friend bought a cake from him because the boyfriend loves the show and she wanted to surprise him with a Cake Boss cake. Because a 10 X 10 covered with fondant was $ 300.00, she bought it simple and just covered with white buttercream and then I covered it with fondant and the design she wanted. I took a tiny sliver of cake and buttercream - not impressed at all. The cake was dry and nothing, absolutely nothing to be impressed about. I expected so much more, but then ... Sylvia Weinstein may make beautiful designs but her cake is dry and has no taste at all.

I'm so sad!

Just heard from someone, too, that a Cake Boss cake at a huge company party was beautiful but dry and not tasty at all. Hopefully the recipes in this book are better.

I still want to know how they put all that filling in their cakes and not have it squish out the side when they put the fondant on...
