Moved a few month ago, just spent the last hour and half tore through every corner of the new house to look for my brick and stone impression mat 
... and couldn't find it! 
Cake is for charity tomorrow morning. And hubby just said, "Relax, it's only for charity!" As if that makes me wanting to make a less perfect cake! What to do what to do?
I am making a haunted house cake, was going to use the impression mat to make the walls. What can I do now, to get similar effect?
Already 1 hour behind schedule, maybe I won't be sleeping tonight.

you can draw horizontal lines with a tracing wheel on the fondant....and then make vertical lines in between the horizontal lines for bricks... kinda like this:

I just made a haunted house this weekend , I ended using a wood wall pattern that I made by scoring some vertical lines And then using a number #2 tip to make the supposedly nails. Heres my pic. i know its nothing fancy but thats another idea you can run with.

Thank you my son was just mesmerized by it.
It was so funny during the cake cutting at least 3 kids shouted " wait !!! We all want to take a picture with the cake" lol. So we ended up taking a group picture everyone though it was the greatest thing. It was kinda funny they were all in Aww........
I have been only baking for 4 yrs (I bake just for family and occasional friend) And this was the first cake to have that type of reaction it was awesome.

At two thirty eight AM, I am FINISHED!
I ended up using the Wilton's ball tool (gosh I haven't used it for ages) on the pointy end, to score deep groves for the stones. I drew big irregular circles and added some smaller circles and lines in between. The effect is like the stone wall. I'm quite pleased with it. Although hubby is not quite happy that I'm spending time when I should be in bed. 
i can barely type right now. Off to the bed! I'll try to take picture in the morning when I am more coherent...

Thanks everyone for the different brick/stone ideas. I am trying to learn some things but don't want to spend a lot of money so I will practice using your ideas.
