How do I do a small checkers pattern to decorate around a "cars" cake ? What technique should i go with ? Where could i find a square cutter ?

you could use a square cutter.

the other thing you can use is a ruler. roll out the fondant and use a ruller that is about 1 to 1.5 inches wide. cut strips and then turn the ruler 90 degrees adn cut more strips. you will have squares icon_smile.gif

do this with each color.

then, place on the cake like this... b= black, w= white
