I have never made my own molds before, so on top of this being new to me, it's kind of a difficult thing to mold. I need to make a mold of a die cast model car. The car is a 1939 Chevrolet sedan, it's very detailed, with nooks and crannies galore. I plan on pouring it out of chocolate, so I am wondering what the best medium to use what be and how I should go about getting started. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!
There's a product out called amazing mold putty that can be used to make your mold. it's food safe, you can get it online or if you have a Michael's near you, they carry it. I got mine there with a 50% off coupon for $10.00. If you do a search you can see the videos on how it works. HTH

I would recommend that you use Silicone Plastique to make this mold. LSW929 recommended Amazing Mold Putty but what many people don't realize is that that material cures in about 15 to twenty minutes. That means that you have about three minutes to apply it which is not much time. Silicone Plastique cures in an hour to an hour and a half. This was purposefully designed to give you about 15 minutes of work time so you can take your time and press Silicone Plastique into every detail in order to capture the object perfectly.
