What are some creative ways to transport cupcakes to individuals? I am making regular sized cupcakes and mini cupcakes for a school party and a birthday gathering. I realize that I can purchase the plain white boxes that are in the stores, yet I worry about them falling over if they don't completely fill the box. Craft stores also sell the 6 count cupcake boxes with the dividers inside to stabilze the cupcakes (great for any accidental bumps of the tables, etc. by children and adults). This is great but can be quite expensive (cost more than the cupcakes themselves and is much to carry). I would like something similar or anything else just as creative for future cupcake travels. HELP!!! (Oh yeah just in case this matters to someone's ideas, generally I make 24-36 regular cupcakes or 48 minis) Thanks

I have purchased a cupcake carrier. It has 3 stackable trays that each hold 1 dozen regular sized cupcakes. It has a locking lid and is sturdy, compact and efficient. It's proper name is Cupcake Courier.

I ran across this post the other day and tried it. KHalstead suggests usinf hot glue to hold the cupcakes in place. It works!! Heres the thread.

You can also purchase plastic cupcake inserts that fit into a bakery box. With a little trimming, I can get 2 inside one of the large 19" bakery boxes (that's 2 dozen). I get mine at the local paper store.

I use the plastic inserts if I'm handing off to a customer. If I'm taking them out of the packaging myself, I use a thin sheet of styrofoam that I cut the perfect size circle (using my round cutters) into and I can space the holes where I want them so the cupcakes don't touch. I first cut the styrofoam sheet to fit my box.

The cupcakes don't get messed up or move at all.

I use the 19" boxes that you get in stores and cut a piece of the non-slip liner stuff to fit. The cupcakes don't move with regular travel.

I have a cake/cupcake carrier by Wilton. There is a bottom that comes out and one side is for cupcakes with circle indents and one side is flat. It works very well.

Brp boxshop has the cardboard inserts pretty cheap.

I have tried all sorts of ways to transport cupcakes with my share of hits and misses. Here's my go-to method:

I place my cupcakes on a regular cake board and use corsage pins to keep them in place. I stick one pin through the cupcake liner until it sticks in the cake board. Then I place them in a box as usual. It's a good idea to get pins with pearl toppers or something brightly colored so you don't miss any when it comes time to remove them.

I transported 150 cupcakes this way without a single mishap.

Love the Cupcake Courier! I had one a bought a second when the were marked down at Costco. I told a bunch of cake minded friends about them but they had put them by the door and they were all gone! Winners here had them as well.

thanks for the costco info. i will have to run out to the ne one and see if they have any.
i recently read somewhere someone covered an upside down cupcake pan with tin foil and placed another pan on top to create the shape and then put the foil inside a sheet cake box. i hope i explained that ok. there were pics also. i just cant remember where i saw it though.
