I would like to start using an ice cream scoop to make cupcakes for consistent size cupcakes. I found out that there are several different size scoops. Is there any standard/normal scoop size? I don't want to make the large/jumbo size cupcakes. I want to make the standard normal size. For those of you that use a scoop, what size do you use?

Thanks for your feedback and help! icon_smile.gif

I use this one from Pampered chef. It is 3T size. I will say that I usually fill it 3/4 full for standard cupcakes.

The large scoop from PC is a #20 scoop.
I also use this size scoop for my standard size cupcakes. And as mentioned above the #20 will hold about 3T of product.

You can look for an ice cream scoop or a portion scoop. Look at the metal piece that "scoops" out the product, on it will be a number. I think the medium PC is a #30 and the small one is a #40, I don't remember anymore.

But if you find cookie scoops, ice cream scoops or portion scoops they should have the number in there.

I use a #16 which holds 1/4 cup of batter for standard cupcakes. I prefer an ice cream scoop because it helps keep the cupcakes the same size and is faster.
