OMG!!! They are so beautiful, how perfect would they be for a wedding. I will be trying those. Thanks.
Thnak you for sharing. I saw the same tall cupcakes. Now i have some way to dress up the ones that don't quite come out to my standards, like yesterday.
You could also cut up cake for this also. Looks easy enough to do with the tool shown.
This is fabulous! I'm wanting to make three dripping candles for my Halloween party centerpiece--and these will be aabsolutely perfect! Thank you so much!
Why, oh why, can't I figure stuff like this out on my own?????
These are so cool....got a container full of cupcakes in the freezer!!
What about Christmas candle decorations for the table??
Thanks sugarcrowh for posting!!

That's what I was thinking!!!
I love this! THanks for sharing!
Interesting way to make them.
I had considered when I saw the pics that they were baked in a tall, skinny aluminum can like what my mom used for a pumpkin once. The only thing I can't figure out is what would be long enough to core it in this instance.
These really look fun to make.
I was just looking at these the other day and was thinking of making them. I have a question though. From what I understand, you use vellum and/or scrapbook paper. Is that food safe since it is touching the fondant? They are gorgeous and I know they can also be decorated without the paper, but I like the paper
Wow, they're beautiful, thanks for the link. I might have a go soon, I have some leftover cuppies in the freezer
How about using the Chocolate Transfer Sheets on the fondant before wrapping them? That would give you the design on the fondant and would be food safe.

I was thinking the same thing. I guess the difference is that you could bake 12 cupcakes (or 12 rounds) in about 15 minutes, while it would take 30+ minutes to bake a cake that would yield 12 rounds.
And "Thanks" to Daphne91, who posted the picture of her "Tall Cupcakes" on here that inspired others of us to search how to do it. I PMd her and she was kind enough to send the link to this tutorial.
I'm glad you guys liked it...
There are so! many! ideas running to my head after I found this ...
I guess I will do it soon...
Look what I found while on youtube. It's a tutorial on how to make the tall cupcakes:
Here's the link. I hope it works

Thanks for sharing! Another question: Why not just do the same thing with one large cake basked as high as a cupcake, use a circle cutter and cut out 3 and proceed the same way versus wasting cupcake wrappers and STILL having to trim the cupcake? Just an idea to throw out there

Time. You can bake 12 cupcakes (or 12 rounds) in 12-15 minutes. It would take 30+ minutes to bake a cake that would yield 12 rounds. Also, you don't have to use cupcake wrappers; you can pour the batter into the cupcake pan without them.
I like the idea of the shape, but NOT the fondant covering. I'm thinking it would work nicely with ganache smoothed out instead. Thoughts?
