I am so happy! I found display stands for the push-up cakeshooters! The only place that I could find online was @ www.pastrychefcentral.com They were $26.99 each & hold 18 push-ups! My shipping was $9.54. For a dollar more in shipping I could get two, so I did. Great for filling, transporting & displaying!! Hope this helps anyone that was interested!!

They are located in NY and they ship via UPS. I'm in Philly, so it's only one day shipping for me. If you're on the West Coast, it may take several days...maybe a week?
this may sound stupit but how do u fill them?
Have to put them standing up on something if you haven't bought the trays. They were created for frozen desserts really, so you might need something to stick them in, while you fill them up.

I guess apply the same to cake? You probably need a round of cake of same size as the pop container, then a filling, or buttercream, then another round of cake, then a pretty swirl?
I am not sure where I saw that... I think there was a tutorial that I probably posted at the beginning of this... I'll search for it.

I received mine the other day & can't wait to make them!! My display stand should be here any day too! Let's see if these can be as much fun as cupcakes! You could also do cake & ice cream in them. First layer cake, then softened ice cream & some kind of topping, then more cake...more ice cream...topping & finish off with whipped cream & a cherry. Put the cap on it then put them in the freezer. Sounds good to me!!! Let's see all the ideas we can come up with using these & share.
excellent... let's share our ideas! I was thinking of doing kids' stuff first, but then I thought that "adult" treats might work, too! Maybe something like cake with bailey's irish cream icing, something that tastes like a margarita, etc. Does anyone know if cottage bakers have to have a liquor license to sell something like these?

I would do it on a sheet pan, but maybe other people with experience would give you other ideas?

maybe bake a cake and cut it in half, like when you're torting, and then use a tiny round cookie cutter? My containers are coming today... I'll see how big (or small!) they are... hope I have a cookie cutter that small! Or you could use the end of a bigger Wilton tip, like a 1M.
If it is this kind of cup... then it is 1 3/4 ", which might mean you need a 1.5" cutter.

For thin cakes,just put it in a bigger pan. A 1/4" or 1/2" layer bakes in just a few minutes. Junior's Cheesecakes are baked with a thin cake crust. Bake about 10 minutes at 350.
I haven't made mine yet, but I pushed a mini cupcake liner in to see if it would fit. it's a little bit of a tight squeeze, but it works. if I have time this weekend I'll bake some minis and find out for sure... maybe use two per push pop split in half.
Let's try and think of some names for these, too! Don't want to use "cake shooters" ... already taken. I can't seem to come up with something equally catchy. Here's what I have so far...
cupcake push pops or cake push pops
cupcake shots or cake shots (does this sound too much like an alcoholic drink?)

I think they are a cute idea, I just dont understand how you eat them? If you munch on them right out of the container wouldn't you be getting lots of cake and then lots of frosting not really together? Anyone actually have one before?
I think the trick is putting in lots of layers, like 3-4 cake and 4-5 icing. That way you could get a little of each in each bite!

I've had them now. Messy to eat. Lick frosting, eat cake, making sure the piece of cake doesn't fall down. Or, open your mouth wide enough to shoot the cake in. Kids liked it though, and I think that's where the market is. These things were not invented for cake, but for frozen desserts, which makes more sense. I wish they sold the containers in smaller quantities.
ok, I made some tonight with some leftover cake batter, icing, and andes mint pieces. made mini cupcakes and split each one in half, used two minis (4 pieces) per push pop. they fit well in the tube thingy with a little room around them. I think I put too much icing in them, though, because they were really sweet! will try more soon, maybe next week, and in different flavors.
overall, the push pop concept worked well. it was hard for me to get cake and icing in one bite because I have braces and I can't bite things, even soft things, with my front teeth... for some reason it grosses me out! but that's just me. I was able to push it up a little at a time and nothing was falling out. I may try and sell some at a craft fair I'm doing in a few weeks.
