I hope someone out there can help me! I need to make a three tier topsy turvy cake for a birthday, and I've stupidly said I'll do the middle tier with a quilted design. I'm just wondering what the best way to achieve this is? I've used an embosser for a "normal" straight sided square cake before, but this will be round and topsy turvy so my embosser won't work! Does anyone have any ideas? I'm struggling with how to make it look even despite tapering.

Thanks xx

i just saw this done on amazing wedding cake's. she cut out a round shape the size of the top of her cake to use as a template, using paper or parchment, then folded it several times the make the lines that she would use to follow.then she just made a line going down at an angle. i dont know if how i explained it make's sense, but it did work for her,it came out perfect, and she was doing a cake that was tapered at the bottom also.
