I am making a baby shower cake and the theme is butterflies and flowers to go with the theme of the nursery. I have been looking on the internet an dhave seen many of butterflies that look like they are paper thin and flying on the cake. Does anybody know how to make these butterflies? Thanks for the help!!

They are probably made out of rice paper. It's a thin edible paper.

Hi!! I recently made my baby shower cake and used butterflies on it, the photo is in my pics. The way I made the butterflies was with rice paper, I found a design of a butterfly I liked then traced it onto the rice paper and used edible markers to color the design, then I took pipping gel to give them a shiny look! I hope this helps, Good Luck!
