How Do I Make Cappuccino Colored Fondant?
Decorating By cakeaholic_cakery Updated 25 Sep 2010 , 2:41pm by Echooo3
I'm looking to make a light brown fondant with almost slight gray tones to it. The typical brown seems to have a pink or red tone to it that I would like to avoid... Any suggestions?
Thank you!
I made some fondant last night that I thought looked very much like cappuccino color. I had some white and some gray made up and added a tiny bit of brown to the white. It wasn't the color I wanted - as you said it had reddish undertones. So I added about 1/3 the amount of that in gray. I then just added tiny bits of brown until it came out a nice color that I liked.
Fondarific sells a mocha fondant it is so good. You might want to check out their site.
OMG that sounds good! I've never tried fondarific but I've heard that it is really good!
Order the sample pack for 6.00 includes shipping. I don't really care for coffee but the mocha was so good.
When I need mocha color, I put in some unsweetened cocoa powder. Just a very little bit. It doesn't change the flavor so much as it changes the color.
Thanks for the ideas everyone. Echooo3 - do you just add cocoa to white fondant to color it? Thanks again!
