Are you making sure that the marshmallows are completely melted and kneaded in with the powdered sugar? I never sift my powdered sugar and my fondant always comes out smooth. Are you kneading in additional powdered sugar until smooth and elastic? Wrap well in plastic wrap and store in a ziplock bag. Do not refrigerate. If you follow these tips your MMF should come out perfect every time. Hope this helps.

Ihave had this happen before and I thought it was the powdered sugar even though I sifted it, I had used a different brand. Last night when I was making the mmf I was stirring the marshmallows and I saw the little gummy things. I remade the marshmallow mixture and this time i did not put crisco on the spoon and it worked out great. I think in the 2 times it has happened to me I put to much crisco on the spoon. Thats the explanation I'm going with for now anyway
So I was wondering if you had coated your spoon or bowl with crisco???????(while mixing or melting your marshmallows) Also the gummy things I have had DO NOT go away while resting!!
