I poured some white chocolate frames and they look beautiful, but I really need them to look like tarnished silver. Any ideas on accomplishing this? I have a wide variety of luster dusts...should I add vodka and paint them on or will the fat in the chocolate make it bead up?

Since you didn't tint your white chocolate first with an oil based gray or silver coloring for chocolate, my best guess would be to spray or paint the frames with colored cocoa butter. If that is not an option, then you can try luster dusting (without vodka) on your frame. That's what I did on this one. I had some candies that I sprayed with cocoa butter, but I don't have any pictures.

I've brushed dry luster dust on molded chocolate and it covers perfectly. NuSilver color luster dust works well to give a nice metal finish.

On page 4 of my photo gallery is an example. The vice-grips on the board of my toolbox cake is white chocolate brushed with silver luster dust.

I am really not proud of this fire truck, but if you look at the spray nozzle, you will see where I used Wilton's Silver Pearl dust. The nozzle was gray fondant and when I dry brushed the pearl dust over it, it turned to a silvery metal color.

(I'm new to cake carving and fondant, so be gentle!)

I hope this helps!
