Hi there,

Would love to have any tips on how to make the coach logo for a purse cake? I've seen some painted on....is that freehand or stencil....or is it easier to use fondant. Any help would be greatly appreciatedicon_smile.gif

have you gotten any help yet ? What I did was find a c pattern online (actually I think someone has one posted on cake central somewhere, you can search in the gallery for the c pattern there) Then I transferred the pattern to cardboard. Then I cut the card board out(not easy at the thin parts) When I tranferred my pattern on the cake wat I did was trace the pattern on the cake with a toothpick(in the future I will use a pencil! I didnt know you could use pencil!!! )then I filled the pattern in with my dye mixture. I need to find a better mixture for next time. But that was it. Took forever ! Good luck icon_smile.gif

Thanks Colleen for your help....i was disappointed with the lack of help on this site in regards to my posticon_sad.gif, i ended up using a round cutter (bent a little), a lot quicker than i thought.

Thanks again for your help, greatly appreciatedicon_smile.gif

sugar-2 it appears you already did your cake but here's what I did for future reference. I printed the pattern from the templates gallery and taped it to the back of a stencil sheet(plastic). I cut out the c's with a stencil cutter( this actually burns it), filed the rough edges and airbrushed all the c's. I tried with a sponge, tried stamping, and tried painting by hand. I didn't like any of those. I usually don't search the forums so I never saw this post. There are alot of questions pertaining to coach purses in the forums. Maybe someone has an easier way? You can see mine in my pics. icon_smile.gif

I have done a good amount of stenciling and the way that 808hedda cut the stencil is great. I use a palette knife to put buttercream or royal icing on a stencil. It works better than anything else I have tried.
I, too, had not seen this post to respond to it.
