The recipe I have used is 1/2 c corn syrup, 1 c sugar, 1 tsp water in the microwave for 6-61/2 minutes. I have found and heard from others that when you use sugar your ice will be slightly yellow. The only way I know to get truly clear ice is to use isomalt.

I've seen a lot of people on this site use Knox brand gelatin to make the ice cubes. It is in the baking aisles with Jell-o.
