What tips do you use to decorate cookies? I am thinking of venturing to try to make some cookies but the decorating part has me totally scared!
If you are "flooding" a sugar cookie, I would suggest a Wilton #4 Round. If you are doing detail work, then use a Wilton #2 Round. Hope that helps. I have done some sugar cookies, including several hundred for wedding favors, but unfortunately I don't have pictures.
You could always pick a sugar cookie you like from the galleries and PM the creator for advice.
please look up c/cer antonia74 , under member list. there you will learn her techniques. I think it is under tutorials on c/c also. but first look her up and follow her from there. hth

I'm not sure if you meant tips for decorating (like how-tos and hints) or decorating tips (like Wilton, PME, sizes, etc.)....
If you mean tips - I use a combination of Wilton and PME and Ateco tips, ranging in sizes from 00 - 5 for my cookie decorating.
I suspect you mean hints/suggestions, though... here are some really great links to threads and articles on CakeCental that have a wealth of information to get you started. But there is so much more if you have questions on a specific topic (like drying time/location, freezing, recipes, etc.). I also suggest you peruse the cookie forum and album because there are so many wonderful decorators on here that share great information and are truly inspiring.

Have fun - it is truly an addictive hobby!
Ditto what Bonnie said! I was totally clueless to the beauty of decorated sugar cookies until I stumbled across CC. (I was used to some icing and lots of sprinkles!) First I was awestruck and intimidated. Then, I decided to get serious and give cookie decorating a try. LOVE it! Don't hesitate to ask questions, as the majority of decorators on this site are more than happy to answer them.
