I'm having a problem with the cake board of the top tier pulling off the icing of the the bottom tier. The only solution I've had is to place parchment paper in between layers to keep it from pulling off.

Is this normal? What can I do to avoid this?

I use Sugar Shack icing medium consistency with the hi ratio shortening.

I think you can sprinkle either powdered sugar or shredded coconut under the cake board to keep it from sticking to the icing below. I've used the PS and it worked well. HTH!
