Does anyone have any tricks for breaking an oreo in half to use as a decoration besides breaking it with your fingers? I'm trying to get a clean break maybe a knife would work?
I would use a serrated knife. I do that when I have to cut chocolate wafer cookies, which I realize are a lot thinner than oreos. But it should give you the cleanest break. Good luck!
I've heard of people heating them to soften before cutting with a knife. I've never tried this though.
I use a large unserrated knife that is very sharp. Just place the cookie on a cutting board and lower the knife firmly to cut all the way through in one motion-not a sawing motion. HTH
I'm not sure if it has to do with the hot weather where I live but my Oreos always come apart neatly when I hold one side in each hand and twist each side in an opposite direction.
I think the key is to have a soft filling in the Oreo. By the way, it's always 32 degree Celsius where I'm currently living.
I usually have the opposite problem with Oreos, I have to keep them in fridge because I like them better cold.
I ended up cutting the oreos with the serrated knife and it worked out great depending on the weather ( humidity was NOT my friend last week in CT ) I may try to refridgerate them first and then cut. Just wanted to thank you guys for your words of advice!
what about a scroll saw or a really good laser pointer to cut through them??? Hahahahaha i would just eat the ones tht weren't perfect
