I am a small business, and trying new techniques. Any creative ideas on what to do with some of these practice cakes?
You can either pass on these cakes to neighbours, friends, relatives or if u have a charity home closeby.
Try practising your techniques on dummy cakes, thats what i do, once done, clear the dummy & reuse again for another design.
How about tell everyone you know and enter them into a free raffle. Draw names and winners get free random cakes. Sounds like a good way to practice and get your cakes out there more.
awesome ideas, thank you.
This was a sculpted cake, so I could not use a dummy. But will for sure do that on regular cakes.
Thanks for all your input!
When I made a practice wedding cake (first time I had stacked a cake) I donated it to a homeless shelter. They were really happy to get so much cake!
I have taken cakes to the office, or church. Also would be nice to take one to a nearby senior citizen center or nursing home. You could also reward an office that you do business with, say like a service company (plumber, A/C). We usually only call them when we're in trouble. It would be a nice surprise to let them know you appreciate their good service.
