Hi everyone, I'm using frosting sheets on my cake, but the back of the frosting sheet does not want to peel off. I put in the freezer for 10 sec, nothing, again for another 10 sec nothing. arrrrrrrrrhhhhhhh, the last time I used a frosting sheet did not have any problem with it, now this one is really stubbord... It's in the freezer again for the last 10 min. Thanks all for your help!!!
Sorry I cant help , Ive never used one before . But, would like to know what and where you get them .
I got them from kopykake.com. thanks for answering. Hope some can help me with this problem.
I buy mine at KopyKake too. Whenever it's warm and they stick, I put them in the freezer for 3-5 seconds and they peel right off. If that is not working for you, you can call KopyKake. They are always very polite and helpful.
thanks, I tried to call them but keep getting a fast busy signal. I used the 1-800-999-5253 number, anyway since I couldn't peel off the the frosting from the backing I had to improvise. I have another cake to do next week and it's two photos with edible frosting sheets, so I do need to get a hold of kopykake. I will try again on Monday. thanks.
I get mine from TastyFotoArt.com and they are wonderful!!! Don't leave them out of package 'til you are ready to use them. Don't print them until you are ready to place on cake. Put in freezer for 1 minute only and they peel off great!!!

Try emailing them and include your phone number. I have done that and they contacted me in just about an hour.
The only time I've ever had trouble is when I left the printed sheet uncovered for a couple of days. In the end I threw it out, luckily it was only a leftover bit on the sheet.
All the icing sheets problems are mainly due to dryness or humidity. All the icing sheets have issues in high humidity. They icing sheets will collect the moisture and cause it to stick to the backings of all the brands. When this happeneds, the most effective way to handle this is by sticking it in the freezer for 30 seconds and while it is still cold, immediately remove the backing. Most brands also have problems when it is dry (it cracks or falls off the backing). When they dry, there isnt a lot you can do. This often happends when the bags are left open. The only brand that does not have the dryness problem as intense as others is the Premium Icing Sheet.
I have never left my sheets out of the package. I guess the problem could be humity. I live in the caribbean and it's really hot and humid. I have placed my sheets in the freezer for 10, 20, 30 mins. and sometimes I have left them there for hours. They are really stuck to the backing. I had to improvise and cut it out and place them on the cake with the backing and inform the client. Thanks everyone for the tips. I will try to contact kopykake and hope they can help.
I have frosting sheets from kopykake and have that problem quite often especially with the 2" circles. I have a sculpting knife that I carefully run between the frosting sheet and the paper. You need something thin and not sharp like the dull side of a paring knife or something like that.
Good Luck.
I see you are in Puerto Rico, where it is very humid. I know this sounds weird, but I have a customer in a similar environment who puts them in her car where it is hot. The problem is that the icing sheets are collecting the moisture. If the freezing is not working for you, you may want to try a hair dryer where it actually will dry the images out. There are also other brands of icing sheets besides KK that you may want to consider. But overall, humidity brings that reaction.
I used the hair blower on a piece some came off and some tore but I also had problem with my gumpaste and fondant flowers so I was told to put them in the oven with the light on to dry and it worked, I'm going to try that. will let everyone know if it works. thanks everyone.
I had a customer from Puerto Rico tell me that they put them in their car with the door shut for 10 minutes and they come right off. You may have better luck with the Premium Icing Sheets.
