On behalf of sounding really naive, what is scratch white cake supposed to actually taste like? I've been experimenting with some recipes for white cake and they all come out delicious - but tasting like a sugar cookie! Unfortunately, I don't have a bakery around me that bakes from scratch to test a white cake out, but from what I've read, I'm not sure a sugar cookie is the flavor I should be going for...thoughts???
