So, I've done a lot of searching/research on shipping cookies. I think I'm set as far as packing them in a way that won't break them. But, I was wondering if you could tell me what to wrap the cookies with so the fondant won't melt. I know fondant gets all gross when it's in an air tight container. Last week, I sent cookies decorated with a glaze frosting and wrapped in plastic wrap...they made it just fine. Can I wrap fondant covered cookies in plastic wrap, or is that too air tight? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I think it's different on cookies than on a cake...the cookie doesn't have as much moisture for the fondant to absorb. I package my cookies in treat bags tied with a ribbon, or wrapped in plastic wrap, and the fondant doesn't do anything weird. I don't keep them very long, but my mom has kept them for a month, and mailed some across the country, and they still looked/tasted fine when unwrapped from the plastic wrap.

I just did cookies for my sister's shower and my dad forgot to get one. Well, they were packaged in cellophane bags and I kept his saved (packaged and all) in a tupperware container that he left at my house and gave him his cookies a week after the shower and they were fine. They were covered in fondant and royal icing. They didn't get mushy at all (and my air conditioner had died for two of the days so my house was nice and hot).

I just did some cookies for a bridal shower and let my family have the extras. I put them in a ziploc bag and even stacked them on top of each other (they has fondant and RI) and no issues! No sticking, no sweating.

I think pp is right about moisture issues being completely different with cookies to cake. Plus, the fondant dries pretty hard. I even steamed my cookies and they dried nice and firm.
