I found a You Tube video of this cake but I was only able to get it to work once - and it was only a partial video.

So, I am wondering if anyone knows how to make this cake from start to finish. I don't need it to be a giant cake. Probably to feed about 25 people. Any information I can get would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!

that looks like the Wilton bear pan (probably easiest way to go) and just pipe it with buttercream on a star tip. You can carve the cake but you'd have to bake a few. Will be less waste if you find the Wilton pan. GL to you!

Yeah I do know about the Wilton bear cake pan, but I was hoping to try making the cake a different way - wanted to challenge myself a little more. If anyone knows how to make that cake, that would be great.

I did a hand carved bear cake twice. The link is my first one and I list what size cakes I used to carve the different parts.

Pumpkinroses - how many people did this serve? And how tall did it end up being?

does anyone know who made this cake? I would love to chat with that person. This is pretty close to the bear in the picture I posted.

I know that at my daughters birthday I had about 10 people and there was A LOT of left overs that I took into work. I would say though the body is about 40servings, head about 12, and the legs about 20, so totaling approximating 62 servings. I adjusted the normal servings suggestions to reflect what was carved off. The bear ended up standing about 24" tall. He was quite big.

It is a very cute bear, but it looks like the youtube is an advertisment to sell the video on how to do it. Right? I'm not sure, but that's what it looks like to me.
