hi everyone
i was searching the internet for a clay extruder and was wondering if anyone owns a scott creek clay extruder (it has an 8" barrel)? does anyone use it for making fondant ropes, etc.?
i have a small sugarcraft gun and it is absolutely no use. the barrel is too small and therefore takes forever to make the ropes.
here is the link for the extruder:

Don't know anything about the one you posted, but a lot of us use Makin's Clay Gun - it's green and has a twist handle instead of the push kind.
Here is a link to show what it looks like and the disks it comes with: http://www.globalsugarart.com/product.php?id=16721&name=Makin's%20Ultimate%20Clay%20Extruder
With a coupon from Hobby Lobby (or Michael's - I think) you can get it for just over $10. I love mine and it's one of my favorite tools! I find a use for it on almost every cake.
Stacey,
That is the one I've been looking at too...there was another thread here somewhere where someone posted that exact link to that webstore. Another poster said it was great because it could extrude much longer pieces than the smaller ones from the craft store.
They sell that giant clay gun at one of the local cake shops. I just can't imagine how bad my hands would hurt after squeezing out that much rope and I do mostly smaller cakes so the makin works great for me.
Stacey,
Please let me know how you like it when you get it...I hope it has a trigger type handle (easier to squeeze, like a caulk gun)...it looks good !
