How To Price A Football Helmet?

Sorry folks, this is the first time I've asked a pricing question. I don't know how many servings a football helment would be (full size).
How would you price it?
Well I have never done one of these (yet!) but, how many rounds do you think it will take to get the correct height? Personally I would charge probably not by slice but by design for this kind of cake. I mean, how would you know FOR SURE how many servings it would be? Close, sure, but not exact.
I would think it would probably be at least 6, 10" (Im only guessing here folks!) rounds? If each layer is 2" that would give you a foot tall helmet, plus the buttercream inbetween? Plently for you to carve with!
I'd charge (but my area is in a very very bad shape right now, I'm surprised people can even afford Walmart cakes here, sadly) about 75-100$ for a cake like this. That would include the gumpaste masks and maybe a nifty bite guard
Good luck and I can't wait to see it!
BethLS, I love your tag line. There is not a day that goes by that I am not reminded of that. Thanks.
Hasn't anyone made a helmet cake? I just don't know how many servings for a full size helmet.

I have no idea ,but if you fine out please share .I might make one for my hubby's birthday.
Well, I finally did the helmet cake (my first one). Here is a picture if I can post it, if not it is in my photos.
I did not charge for the cake as it was a gift. Wouldn't know what to charge anyway.
I made one earlier this year I took two nine inch rounds and one half soccer ball. I stacked all of the cakes and carved the shape curving in a little on the back and sides. I used a melon ball tool to get the circle indent, filled with a vanilla mousse, frosted in butter cream, covered in fondant and brushed with a silver fondant glaze. I made the mask using Fondant and Tylose wrapped it around the side of a bowl to dry. There is a picture in my photos.
Don't laugh it was for a friend at work so it was only to cover ingredients so I only charged 45.00.
The last ones I did I charged $80. Really that is an undercharge. I used four 8 rounds. Since it is football season again and I will get more helmet orders I'm going to start charing $100. I'm going to try to post the helmet I did Saturday.
Didn't post so here is link... http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1797895
Foot ball helmets should not be under-priced.http://www.cakeboss.com/PricingGuideline.aspx this might help you guys get a better idea.
Carved cakes start at $9/serving for me and helmet cakes stay at the base price with a minimum of 15 servings - so $135.
Ladies, Cake Central is so helpful! I just received a request for such a sweet. I have never made one before. I'm thankful for the references/forum and this information. I will proceed and keep all of these comments in mind to provide a quote. Thanks!!
