Well I just dropped my second tier on my first tier of a my very first 3 tier cake.
I did actually cry a bit. But first I swore and threw a chair...

This is so not like me! I am curious does caking bring out the worst in everyone?

Just needed to take a few mins... Now repair time.

Yup! My husband learned very quickly to stay far away from the kitchen when I'm caking Hang in there!

I found it brings out the worst (temper) and the best (thinking on your feet, problem solving, creatvity). I am excited to get up in the morning and try all the ideas that were floating around in my head ay night. Chin up!! I am sure it will be beautiful, and only you will know about the"little wrinkle" you had in the process. It will feel good to know you overcame it.

Its not a temper, its an 'artist tantrum'!!

OMG, I am totally the same way, I think I have a mini meltdown everytime I do a cake. I just finished a Noah's ark cake today where half the ark fell apart and I had to start over, and it was another one of those crying, cussing "I will never do another cake again" moments....I beat up a poor, helpless ball of fondant.....But in the end, it is worth it to create something beautiful!

If I would have dropped a cake on the floor; hubby, the kids and the dog would have left the house. They know to stay away from me!

Yup . . Hubby knows to keep away from me unless its to bring me cups of tea haha x

lol my hubby learned years ago to stay away....my kids actually leave the house and don't come back till they see the cake is leaving. The last tantrum I threw was when I took my airbrush out to the driveway and beat the heck out of it with hubbies hammer . My neighbour witnessed it and now he looks at me kinda funny . Take a breath and then go back to it...we are only human after all.

I am so glad I am not alone I just finished the cake and I think it looks darn good considering earlier... Now if I could get a hold of the lady that is supposed to be picking it up...

I wish my family would leave when i made a cake, instead when I throw a hissy, my hubby says "Its nothign to get mad over" or " does throwing a tantrum fix it?"

And i scream "YES IT DOES!"

I never knew how loud I could yell "Son Of A Bi*ch", until I got melted marshmallow on my hand!!

Oh that makes it so much worse or 'it's ok you can fix it' grrrrrrr.

I'm glad I'm not alone! My family knows it's best to stay out of my way when I'm decorating a cake. I had a friend I was making a cake for and she wanted to come over to "watch" I politely said "no". She would have been in for a shock if she saw my behavior if something went amiss. lol

my very first wedding cake wasn't going as planned and i threw my icing spatula across the room while swearing uncontrollably..and i rarely swear, much less the words that were flowing freely from my mouth.
wasn't pretty..lol

I curse probably every time I make a cake. I have to watch it though cause I have a 9 month old and the last thing I need is for him to repeat what mommie says... I have cried a couple of times too... I think its only natural.

I know what I have 4 kids and at least 2 of them were around to see my embarrassing behavior.

I have been known to cuss at my cakes, and thrown fondant at the wall!

No, it doesn't really solve anything. But it sure feels good to get the frustration out!

Yep. Know how it feels. I'm a hobby baker and try to learn things through trial and error. LOTS and LOTS of errors! I've banged my rolling pin on the counter, thrown cake pans on the floor, and used some very choice four letter words! But I'm sweet as pie the rest of the time!

Oh good! So that's normal huh?! I was once tempted to throw a cake through a closed window....

One of my first cake attempts was going so terrible I took out a wooden spoon and just smashed the cake with it. Repeatedly. While sobbing.

Once I stopped, I had to clean cake and icing off the floor, cabinets, and ceiling.

But I felt better. I never did try that cake again. Not sure I should....

My husband is a quick learner. He's only once done the:

DH:"its ok, it looks beautiful, you can fix that" *rub rub rub on my back*
ME: GTFU!! DONT TOUCH ME!

So he's saving for us to buy a shop for me... Wonder why??

Haha, I had to laugh when I read this. Only last Tuesday while decorating a cake my 6yr old grandson turned to Mummy and stated ' Nana just said sh*t' OOP'S

oh wow... i feel better,i thought i was the only one with the crying. never again will i make another cake.. i actually stop making cake i was getting panic attack bad. if something did not come out how i want it ... this feel very good now i know i'm not the only one thank u cc for letting me know there are other people out there with the same feeling.

Imagine the words that came out of my mouth when my darling, sweet, precious cat went into my cake room while I stepped out for a minute.

She had not received the required daily dose of "Momma Time" and decided to investigate what I was spending my time on. Yep, it was the gumpaste flowers for my first ever competition cake. One swipe of the paw and I lost HOURS worth of flowers! Ohhh and the verbal vomit that came out of my mouth was priceless I'm sure as I didn't see the cat for the rest of the day. I think she was under the bed!

Thank God there were no other witnesses!

DH just says "Guys, lets leave mommy alone right now"; somehow even that phrase can piss me off at times.

I've had times where it isn't the cake, but it the people in the house that drive me nuts when I'm trying to decorate. I've literally shouted "I want doors on my kitchen complete with huge giant pad locks."

I have a husband who sits and does nothing while I'm decorating, and it's his job to take over mommy duties. Yet my young children dare to venture into the kitchen to tell on each other or ask for the most ridiculous things. I'll ask "have you spoke to daddy? daddy is your go to person tonight. Don't bug mama, mama is in the ZONE!!!
