I wanted to start collecting the Wilton Yearbooks, but was wondering does anyone know what year Wilton started putting out their yeabooks. I hope this makes sense, thanks
I was able to purchase one from 1976, so it's been at least that long
You could email wilton directly and ask. Then you would have a starting point to work with.

I found a reply from Wilton on their message boards.
In the early 1970s, Wilton Yearbooks were not printed annually. Youll find 1970-71 has a 3-tiered cake, heart cake, round cake and chocolates on the cover. The 1972-73 has doll cakes, tiered cakes and frosted egg cakes on the cover. The 1974 and 1975 Wilton Yearbooks have the same covers. The content of the books are different. The 1974 Yearbook has the copyright date on the inside of the front cover. The 1975 Yearbook has different products in it. Youll find the Cinderella and Disney sugar molds on p. 177 of this book. This will help you distinguish between the 1974 Yearbook and the 1975 Yearbook.

Funny this thread should pop up. I have been collecting the Wilton Yearbooks for some years now on and off, I have almost the entire collection. I am still looking for the 1970-71 (I didnt know when they started exactly, thanx for the answer and description, that helps), and the 1975. I have gotten most off of Ebay, I usually wont pay full price for anything, most have been won for 4-6ish , I have bought 2 or 3 full price when I found them in an out of the way hobby store and new I would have a hard time getting them anywhere else. I stopped at a garage sale just this morning and found the 1982 & 1985 which I have been bidding on for some months but have refused to pay the price. Got these for .50 Cents Each.

I just got 9 various years from EBay last week. All of them but one has the date/year printed on the outside. This one doesn't have a date printed on it anywhere, not even the inside covers!! I am in Orlando at my sis's house for Labor Day so I don't have it here in front of me to really describe it accurately. I do know it has several tiered, columned wedding cakes on the front. I am going to take it to my cake instructor next week when I get back and let her tell me if she knows which one it might be.
. It's the 1975 I think, if not than it's the 1974. They have the same cover but are different inside. It's the only one that does NOT have the year on it.
I have the 1970-1971 Wilton Yearbook. My mom found it at an estate sale some time back. The copyright date is on page 192 in the bottom right-hand corner. It's not titled "Yearbook". The front cover says, "Magic for your table...Cake and Food Decorating by Wilton". And get this, it sold for $1.00 in 1970-71. I don't recall how much my mom paid when she bought it.
Rose - Wow! You think I got a collector's item?!! I don't collect anything so I wouldn't know the importance of a lot of stuff I probably have. When I get back to Alabama, I'll try to get a clear picture of the cover and post it on here. It looks like it may be discolored a bit but overall it is in great condition. All the pages are intact. I know my cake instructor will know which one it is. She started decorating in 1974 - that's my birth year too so that would be pretty neat to have it just for that reason!
Well, fytar, I'm not sure how collectable it would be. I mean I don't collect anything either and don't typically bid on items so "value" wise I haven't a clue. It might "mean" more to someone than valuable. Ya know what I mean? I don't garage sale either because of small kids, it hard to get in and out all afternoon to hopefully "find" a "find". I just know that the 1974 or 1975 (not sure which) they didn't print the year on it. I'm not sure how hard it is to find one.
Still, I know it's something I wouldn't mind having. If you don't mind answering, how much did you pay for it?

Well, looked and looked for the date on that book lastnight. It still had the order insert to order additional copies and that is where the date was! It is a 1974 print!! Hey, the order form is still there, you guys want me to order you a few copies!! Ha, ha, ha, ha.....suckahs!
I put this one in this thread, if no response I'll do a new one. I picked up a Wilton type magazine at a garage sale last week for .50 cents.
The cover is reddish maroon, there are 3 cakes, each has platic crown thingies on them with a plastic bride and groom in the background. The middle cake says "1970" on top of it, however in the middle of the book there is a contest that says entries must be recieved by Dec 31 1968. Anyone sure of the year for this one, is it a yearbook in an earlier form?
The front says "one dollar" and "Your Personal Guide to Cake and Food Decorating Ideas by Wilton"
