How Do I Get To A Hot Pink Color?
Decorating By sweetcakesbyjen Updated 30 Jul 2010 , 3:27am by Babs1964
Can anyone please share how to get this color of pink? I have been trying for the last hour and cannot get it! I think I'm thinking too hard. I tried looking at the color mixing charts but did not see anything that would help in this instance. Thanks!

I use Wiltons Pink coloring - with a few dips with a toothpick - it usually goes hot pink.. I use more if there is a lot of icing. I find fondant goes brighter faster.
Also, if you let your icing sit for a little - it will go deeper!
I use Wilton Rose....Wilton Pink has an orange tint to it and you'll never get a deep "hot pink" with it...it's pink with orange undertones. Wilton Rose doesn't have an orange undertone and makes a truer 'hot pink'.
Try a little of both and do your own experiment. I didn't realize how 'orangey' the Wilton Pink is until I compared the two side by side.
It doesn't take very much to get a good deep color either.
I used the Wilton Rose but it was somewhat orange to me, so maybe I used too much, and the Pink was really an orange color like you said. I will try again in the morning, only with not so much Rose. Thanks for the quick responses!!!
Americolor Electric pink!!!
I've also used Americolor Electric pink but it takes more of it and it also has an aftertaste.
sweetcakesbyjen...I've never gotten an 'orange' color when using Wilton Rose but I certainly have with Wilton Pink.
The color will also darken as it sits...
