Can anyone please share how to get this color of pink? I have been trying for the last hour and cannot get it! I think I'm thinking too hard. I tried looking at the color mixing charts but did not see anything that would help in this instance. Thanks!

I use Wiltons Pink coloring - with a few dips with a toothpick - it usually goes hot pink.. I use more if there is a lot of icing. I find fondant goes brighter faster.
Also, if you let your icing sit for a little - it will go deeper!

I use Wilton Rose....Wilton Pink has an orange tint to it and you'll never get a deep "hot pink" with it...it's pink with orange undertones. Wilton Rose doesn't have an orange undertone and makes a truer 'hot pink'.

Try a little of both and do your own experiment. I didn't realize how 'orangey' the Wilton Pink is until I compared the two side by side.

It doesn't take very much to get a good deep color either. thumbs_up.gif

Yep. Wilton Rose will do it easily.

I used the Wilton Rose but it was somewhat orange to me, so maybe I used too much, and the Pink was really an orange color like you said. I will try again in the morning, only with not so much Rose. Thanks for the quick responses!!! icon_biggrin.gif

I've also used Americolor Electric pink but it takes more of it and it also has an aftertaste.

sweetcakesbyjen...I've never gotten an 'orange' color when using Wilton Rose but I certainly have with Wilton Pink. thumbs_up.gif
The color will also darken as it sits... thumbs_up.gif
