I would like to make cupcakes and take them to work so my colleagues can try them but I travel on the train to work and do quite a bit of walking. What can I put them in to avoid stacking them on top of each other. In one of the forums I read that costco sells something but I don't know what its called. Does anyone in the UK know where I can find something suitable?

Hmm I have only ever transported cupcakes (about 18 ) in a cake box (for big cakes, no separators). They transported fine, as long as you're careful when you put them in and arrange carefully so they're least likely to squidge each other's icing. Although a box of 30 on one layer would be quite a big box.

I have a couple boxes that hold 36 cupcakes each...its called a "Cupcake Courier." I bought mine online and I use them all the time. Its also nice because its extra tall so when I have a tall cake that doesn't fit in my normal cake carrier, I take the cupcake carrier parts out and use this. You can search Cupcake Courier on google...I know amazon dot com has them.

The Cupcake Courier found at this site...I got mine from Costco as many others did a while back for $16.00. I just have to tell you though...my daughter is into cupcakes now too & she needed to transport cupcakes that needed to be kept cool since it has be near 100 degress around here. Well, she didn't put any cupcakes on the top layer (it has 3 layers to hold 36 cupcakes) then put gel cold packs on the top layer and placed 24 cupcakes on the other 2 layers. The cold air falls, so all her cupcakes stayed nice & chilled until she was ready to serve them. I thought this was a fantastic idea she came up with & wanted to share it with you all.

I didn't realise that they sell special cupcake boxes that hold 16 etc...They are very cheap too. Maybe I should try these before I think of investing in a carrier as I don't know how often I will do them
