Hi Debbie I would love to get your thoughts on the Canon Edible Printer Bundle CC7 please. Is it better than the Canon IP3600?

Thank you.

While we are asking Debbie questions... I have one too.

I have the cannon 3600 from Icing Images, I didn't use it for 2 years (I know even after Debbie told me to use it once a week, sorry)

So after 2 years in storage, what I found inside was a huge rainbow disaster. ink as everywhere! It had obviously been tiled and maybe even upside-down at some point. I did my best to wipe it all up and took out the print head to clean it. I threw away the cartridges since they were empty and covered in dried gummy ink.

I soaked the entire print head in a bowl of water before I read the instructions, so obviously the entire thing got wet. It has been dried out for a few months now but I have no idea if I totally ruined the print head by getting it soaking wet?

Any advice Debbie?

That is from another company. It seems like they are using the Canon mg5420 or MG5520. They have two different types of paper, I don't know what brand, but one doesn't go edge to edge.  I have tested their inks in another printer, a long time ago and their mixture is very different from ours.  The 3600 is an old printer.  If you can get an MG5320 that is the best as it uses our cartridges that do not have an inner sponge.  Just remember in life you get what you pay for. If you are looking for the best deal, buy the printer separately and the cartridges and ink from a reputable company.

Ok Leanne!!! you crack me up.  Call my office tomorrow at 540-869-5511 ask them to send you instructions on dampening the sponge and cleaning the printhead.  While I am doubtful you can get it to work, I have seen bigger challenges.  it is worth a shot though.  You can always ship it back to us and we can make an attempt at it, but before we even do that, ARE YOU GOING TO USE IT?  If not...trash it and order images from us when you need them.

Also have you tried our new DECOgel?  You would love it and I want to see you design with it!

The printer is fine, however the inks and the paper and the service, I cannot vouch for.  Since those are the most important part of the system (Besides the Canon Name), you may want to get feedback from those who have tried that company's product.

If you are looking for an inexpensive way to get in to the printer, I would suggest you buy one from walmart and then purchase inks and paper separately. I don't believe that there is a warranty.  There are very few edible companies that offer the warranty (I know that Icing Images does), so if you are not purchasing from a company that has a warranty, you are just as well off to purchase direct from walmart or amazon and shop separately for the supplies. It will be less expensive.and you can pick and choose the best edible products to go along with it.

No I am sorry you cannot. Once you use regular ink in a printer, it cannot be converted. It is not just the printhead that gets contaminated, but the sponges, the area where the printhead sits.  By the time you replace all the parts you have spent way more then the printer is worth.  You have to start with a brand new printer. Sorry, but its just not worth getting someone sick.

You can, however it is very expensive that way.  Buying sheets in packs of 24 is much much cheaper.

If someone doesn't use the printer very often, can the head and nozzles be cleaned after each use to prevent them from getting clogged?

While you can clean them, there is no guarantee that it gets thoroughly cleaned and that you wont have a problem.  If you do not use the printer that often, don't buy it. It is more economical to purchase as you go

It has to be compatible with the edible inks.  My website has a listing of the compatible cartridges under the edible inks section.  Icing Images dot com.

AI'd like to know if the Canon MG5520 is the same as the MG5522. I have a Canon MP560 that just conked out. And I just purchased new edible ink cartridges for it and now I have to get a new printer. I'm trying to figure out which printer to buy.
