Hey all!

My best friend is currently living near Camp Pendleton (hubby is stationed there, she's an SC girl) I wanted to ship her some cupcakes or cookies, but it's so hot here that I know they will melt and UPS basically told me the smallest box is going to start around 60 bucks to ship with dry ice. :/ Can't afford to pay that much just to ship one cupcake! So my question-

Do you know of any bakeries that do ship nationally and what did you think about their product?

I want to ship her something that taste better then a grocery store cake! I looked at 100bakery and I wasn't that impressed, Crumbs ships too, does anyone know if they are good?

Any suggestions are appreciated! TY!

I agree the heat right now is terrible. They are having their hottest summer ever on record. Not sure exactly abut Camp P's weather but generally in LA area is HOT!
Sorry I'm not still in CA or I'd for it for you icon_smile.gif

Right now the marine layer is sitting over the North SD County coast so it's pretty cool, should be that way for most of the week, but to get it across country would require a long ride in hot trucks. Maybe you could find a local bakery in Oceanside or Carlsbad that has a website where you could buy a gift certificate or something like that.

I know that Sprinkles cupcakes will deliver but they will charge you a fortune (min of a dozen order and I think it is $35 min. delivery charge - check the website) and I don't know if they pack in dry ice which you would want because it is really hot here now. That would be my concern for you - if it has chocolate, frosting etc. it will melt. You may be better off finding a local bakery in Pendleton that would deliver for you. Sorry but I do not know of any.
