Has any one tried the cupcake pans that Debbie Meyer has out? Avon is selling them and my order has been on backorder for several weeks. If you have tried this pan; how do you like it?

First, I have never tried this pan (and had to look up who she was), LOL!
IMO dark coated pans are a waste of money.
They bake hot and never last as long as SS.
The filling spacer is a good idea, I guess, but again IMO will become a drawer or cubbie gadget that just takes up space.
You may be a gadget collector, so my opinion is just that. My opinion.
I couldn't find a price, but again, my opinion, your money could be spent more wisely elsewhere.

I was more interested in the opinion of someone who had used the pan. My pans are all this color and I don't seem to have a problem with over-baked cupcakes. They are also still going strong. I had a good recipe for a cupcake with a truffle inside and I really wanted to get it inside the cupcake without distorting it by baking it inside the cc. This looked like a great solution. Hobby baking in general is a waste of money, but it brings me and my friends and family a lot of joy. Thnaks for your input.

I get it, now. A truffle. Totally makes sense. I was thinking a squirt of filling and couldn't wrap my head around it. LOL, just had a garage sale and am still bitter over the fact that I had to bundle 200 dollars worth of useless gadgets to sell for 25. My bad.

You have me pegged though. If my husband knew how addicted to "cake toys" I was he would probably flip.

Don't you wish I could have come to your garage sale?

I would skip it! If I wanted to put something in a hole in a cupcake, I'd use an apple corer and hollow it out after it was baked. I hate and I mean HATE to clean and store things like that. I don't buy things that have such a single use.

This would only encourage me to eat the discarded cores. LOL!! I don't do cake balls either so don't suggest I use them for that.

Then toss the cores or feed them to the birdies!

To me it is choice between 20 lbs. or twenty $. I am choosing a new gadget. Besides it will be fun. Now that I have your attention, what part of Kansas are you from? You had posted before that you charge $50.00 for your 12X18 sheet cakes. What do you charge per slice for your wedding cakes. I am just interested in what the price difference may be per different regions of our fair state. Your price for 12X18's is identical to mine.

Our posts are crossing in cyber-space. I am in Northwest Kansas, but I was raised In Greensburg, KS. Thanks for the compliment on my hubby's cake.

Had you moved from Greensburg before the big tornado? I'm going to PM you about pricing.

Yes, but my parents and sister and her family still live there. Had the joy of helping tear down my childhood home. Tell me about any neat cake supply stores in Wichita. My husband is occasionally down there on business and he would just LOVE to do some shopping for me. Sarcasm intended. Thanks for the PM.

There is a great little cake supply in Wichita called Cake Stuff--they've got a website so you could give him a nice little list!

Santa brought me this pan for Christmas last year icon_wink.gif

I recommend using the apple corer method instead thumbs_up.gif
