Okay I'm just really excited....because I was contacted to make a cake for Philadelphia Wedding Magazine for this fall/winter issue. They told me what to make and I made it...but they said it had to be PERFECT because they were going to show a closeup of part of it on the front cover, and they can only photoshop so much.

And I got it in the mail this week! Yeah!!!! I'm going to upload the photos in my photo album...one pic is scanned so not as nice as the cover shot.

I was so nervous to get this thing perfect, as perfect fondant is really not a strength of mine..but at least I didn't have to do perfect buttercream as that is even harder!!!! Anyway...I'm so pleased and excited.

And no I didn't make the couple. LOL. They are photoshopped!

Yeah, it was hard to price! Finally I had to just give the base price not counting gems...because the gems were hard to find too! They paid for those, I just looked them up and ordered them, once I found out the design they wanted me to make.

I was happy to see my pricing was consistent with most of the other cakers chosen to make a cake for this issue...lots of pretty stuff in there! And I personally know one of the other cakers as well, so that was neat.

Wow Kitagirl! I just looked at the picture and you did a GREAT job. Love what the magazine did with the live models...it was a fun touch. I've been in the Philly/South Jersey area since '84 and getting on the cover of Philadelphia Magazine is a HUGE deal. This is a big feather in your cap. CONGRATULATIONS to you.
