I'm still a novice and learning as I go. . .I'm making a Mermaid Dora cake for my daughter's birthday and I'm wondering how in the world I can make the buttercream frosting sparkle? I have used luster dust 'painted' on royal icing and fondant. Is there a way to make the buttercream sparkle??
You can use the pearl airbrush color. You don't have to use an airbrush, buy a tiny pump sprayer and put the color in there - mist your cake lightly! You can also buy the pearl in an aerosol can, but I don't think those work very well. (I have an airbrush, but I like this little trick for the times I don't want to get it out)

So when you use the color made for airbrush machines in the pump bottle do you thin it with vodka or use it straight...no pun intended!
Thanks for this tip!
i love, love, love the PME spray luster cans. cheap and easy way to get the look of airbrushed luster dust.
