I am reading everywhere that the Wilton 1M tip is the best for that swirl icing on top of cupcakes. I have an Ateco set of tips and am wondering what tip number i can use that is the same (or very very simlar) to the Wilton 1M tip so I can get the same effect without having to spend that oh so expensive $1.65 for the wilton tip.
Thank you! When i went to baking/pastry school we got the whole Ateco set of tips, so i have a wide range of small to large tips.
Antonia- the way you iced those cupcakes is EXACTLY how I'd like mine to look this weekend What is your technique (i.e. how do you hold the bag/tip?) I've never done it that way before so I'm eager to learn!
Thanks!!
I Def Need To Get The The Big Tips For My Cupcakes! Its Hard To Find The Wilton 1M Tip In My Area!
I might go try to find a Wilton 1M, someone on a different thread referred to the swirl I use as looking like a "pile of dog poo". I am assuming that's not cute! haha But seriously those swirls are pretty antonia!
If you can't find the Wilton 1M, use the larger tip Ateco #826
(I like it way better, it's bigger!)
