I made a batch of Cake Love's IMBC yesterday, and flavored it with real vanilla extract.
I used one tablespoon of McCormick, which is what I had left in the bottle, and two tablespoons of Watkins, which I had just purchased at Wal Mart.
When we ate the cake last night, I could taste kind of a burning, like from the alcohol from the extract. I know three tablespoons is a lot, but I followed suggestions from other CCers about adding at least three tablespoons for a good flavored IMBC.
Everything else I used was brand new and fresh so I know it wasn't the butter or eggs. Have any of you experienced the alcohol taste with your IMBC recipe? Do you think I used too much? Was it the Watkins?
