Two different packages of Candiquik have this problem. It looks grainy. The first package I melted in a Wilton candy melter. The second package I melted in a double boiler. To the second package, I tried adding shortening, parafin wax (like my mom used when making Buckeyes. Not really comfortable adding wax to stuff, though. LOL), and letting it sit on low heat in the double boiler for half an hour. I tried adding Flo Coat to the first package.

When I stir it, there's chocolate around the edges and bottom of pan that looks as if it's on the verge of seizing. I can't think of the word right now- shredding? peeling? separating? Something like that.

I've given up for the night and have poured into a bowl to harden until I figure out what to do to fix it.

This is the white stuff. I melted some regualar chocolate Candiquik tonight and only towards the end were there any problems and even then it wasn't enough of an issue to stop since I was almost done. All the packages were purchased at the same time (about a month ago) and I can't find an expiration date on the packages.

Any and all suggestions/guesses welcome.
LL

Hi cheatize
I am sorry to read about your experience with the vanilla CandiQuik. The easiest way to melt CandiQuik is in the microwave, in the included tray. Depending on the power of your microwave, we ususally recommend starting at 60 seconds, and then if necessary heating for an additional 15 seconds.

I have not seen CandiQuik behave (look) like it does in the picture. I would appreciate it if you could contact me directly so that I can learn more. My name is Larry Phillips, and I am with Log House Foods. My email is [email protected]. My phone is 800-328-5631. Thank you.
