Unconvential Uses For Cake Supplies

Do you ladies have any unconventional uses for cake items? I have a curved barbell in my cartlidge piercing and today at work I noticed one of the balls must have fallen out in the shower this morning so I think when I get home I am going to roll a small ball of gumpaste and put on the top so it doesnt fall out. I would just go buy another earring but no where around me sells the gage I need so I ordered some online but I am hoping the gumpaste will work until they get here. Any crazy things you have done? Or any better suggestions for my earring?
Yup - a lot of the tools & techniques work great for polymer clay, too. Flowers on cake, polymer flowers in jewelry :>) Of course, I wash everything meticulously before going from polymer clay to cake decorating!

I didnt even think about using cake stuff for clay even though I used a clay extruder for cake. Such a blond lol
I read on here once that someone used fondant to cover nail holes on their wall.
Thats funny might have to use that one sometime.
I sort of rediscovered cake decorating because I kept buying cutters and molds for my polymer clay...I had an order for a miniature cake and researching it is how I discovered CC! Sooo glad she ordered that clay cake!!
